Child products configuration

Child product source

  • Label: Child Product Source
  • Default: Specific Products
  • Options: Specific Products / Product Categories / Product Tags
  • What it does: Determines where the list of selectable items comes from. Switching between sources clears the previously selected items/categories/tags on save to avoid stale data.

Select child products

  • Label: Select Child Products
  • Default: (none)
  • Type: Multi-select (searchable)
  • What it does: A searchable list of all published simple products in your store. Only visible when Child Product Source is Specific Products. Only simple products that are published, purchasable, and visible will actually be shown to customers.

Allowed categories

  • Label: Allowed Categories
  • Default: (none)
  • Type: Multi-select (searchable)
  • What it does: Selects one or more product categories. All published, purchasable, visible simple products in those categories will be available for selection. Only visible when Child Product Source is Product Categories.

Allowed tags

  • Label: Allowed Tags
  • Default: (none)
  • Type: Multi-select (searchable)
  • What it does: Selects one or more product tags. All published, purchasable, visible simple products with those tags will be available for selection. Only visible when Child Product Source is Product Tags.

Maximum products to display

  • Label: Maximum Products to Display
  • Default: 0 (unlimited)
  • Type: Whole number
  • What it does: Limits the number of products pulled from a category or tag source. Products are retrieved alphabetically by title. Set to 0 for no limit. Only visible when the source is Product Categories or Product Tags.
